STEM-UP Network Partners with KINBER
The STEM-UP Network, an organization dedicated to empowering women in STEM education and career development, is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with KINBER, Pennsylvania’s leading digital inclusion non-profit.
STEM-UP Network, originally founded in partnership with Harrisburg University, prepares women with real-world strategies and relationships that support their retention, development, and advancement within STEM careers. STEM-UP provides soon-to-be and early career professionals with the support of experienced STEM professionals.
Despite decades of progress toward an inclusive STEM workforce, women remain underrepresented. Many women exit STEM careers due to culture, bias, and a lack of advancement opportunities. With the right tools, training, and support, women can thrive and advance in these fields and become mentors and leaders driving the future of their organization, industry and discipline.
Through STEM-UP and KINBER’s partnership, both organizations plan to work together on initiatives that encourage the diverse participation of STEM students, early career professionals, and industry leaders. Future programming will also leverage KINBER’s expertise in digital inclusion to ensure that STEM program participants have the skills and resources to thrive in their studies and career.
“Our partnership with KINBER boosts STEM-UP’s ability to expand our work focused on narrowing the gender talent gap in the STEM workforce for competitive and economic advantage in Pennsylvania and beyond.” said Dr. Bili Mattes, Executive Director of STEM-UP Network.
Key objectives of the STEM-UP Network and KINBER partnership include:
Expanding STEM-UP Network’s reach across the Commonwealth: KINBER’s statewide programming and resources will support STEM-UP Network’s expansion to all corners of Pennsylvania.
STEM Programs and Workforce Development: The partnership between the two organizations will facilitate new STEM programs, training, and workforce development initiatives, with a focus on creating more pathways for women to enter STEM fields and high-tech industries.
Fostering Industry Partnerships and Networking: KINBER’s extensive network of anchor institutions and community organizations will be instrumental in creating a more interconnected STEM-UP ecosystem where students, educators, and industry leaders can collaborate and share knowledge.
KINBER President and CEO Nathan Flood stated, “We believe this partnership with STEM-UP Network will not only enhance educational and career opportunities but also help drive the next wave of STEM innovation and workforce development across Pennsylvania.”
STEM-UP Network and KINBER are both committed to creating a future where a STEM education and careers are accessible to all women. This partnership is a critical milestone in the ongoing effort to prepare Pennsylvania’s students and communities for the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow's technology-driven world.
