KINBER awarded $25K grant from Erie Community Foundation

KINBER is proud to be the recipient of a $25,000 "Helping Today" grant from the Erie Community Foundation. The grant will allow KINBER to provide digital literacy classes to help nearly 50 underserved residents of Erie County bridge the digital divide.

The grant will fund 'Erie: Thriving in a Digital World', a pilot program from KINBER. With this grant, KINBER will plan and facilitate three types of digital literacy classes in the downtown Erie area:

  • Business/Workforce digital skills

  • Home/Education digital skills

  • Digital skills for seniors

Participants in the program will also receive a laptop upon completion of the course, ensuring they have the skills and tools necessary to thrive in a digital world. The project goal is to help these Erie residents increase their digital literacy so they can enjoy improved economic and educational opportunities, enhanced healthcare, and social and civic inclusion. Courses are slated to start in early 2025. KINBER is grateful to the Erie Community Foundation for making this project possible.
