Villanova University – Nothing But Net(work)

The emotion and energy was electric on the suburban Philadelphia campus of Villanova University the night of the Championship win, where many of Villanova’s undergraduate, graduate and law students, as well as alumni and friends, collectively watched the live streaming video and rejoiced.

And KINBER assisted with creating that magical night on campus by helping Villanova meet its technology needs. “During the middle of the basketball tournament, KINBER’s expertise and quick response allowed us to meet student demand while maintaining our operations across the University, which we very much appreciated,” said John Center, director of Network & Communication Services at Villanova.

Community College of Beaver County Is First to Receive First PennREN Services

To help reach the goal of ensuring students, faculty, and administrators have the necessary connectivity to support learning, the Community College of Beaver County became KINBER’s first customer to receive commodity internet services in October 2012. “Our affiliation with KINBER will help us achieve that goal and assist us in expanding the use of technology to support learning,” said Dr. Joe D. Forrester, president.

Using KINBER’s services has helped CCBC increase new possibilities to use technology, while reducing the cost for internet services. With connectivity to PennREN, CCBC now has the opportunity to expand future offerings, such as a library management system, video conferencing, and synchronous online courses. Walter Lukhaup, CCBC vice president of information technology, noted, “Our experience with KINBER has been very positive. As the second smallest community college in the state, CCBC often seeks to find ways to collaborate, and working with KINBER provides opportunities for cooperation.”
